The club is delighted to announce its new management team of Darren Smith and Kenny Rafferty following the resignation of Kevin Haynes last month.
The pair enjoyed phenomenal success at Tranent with two cup wins and an impressive run of league results, forging a strong team spirit and winning mentality in their squad.
Darren spoke enthusiastically about their new role at Dalkeith, saying: "We're really looking forward to this new challenge - we see it as a great opportunity for us in our return to management and we want to help the club progress next season"
Darren also plans to continue playing and he brings considerable experience with over 20 years in the game, counting Berwick, Alloa, Brechin and Raith Rovers as former clubs. In addition to the Tranent success, he previously reached the Scottish Junior Cup final as a player with Musselburgh Athletic.
Our new gaffers will commence pre-season planning once the current season ends. Darren will continue to feature as a player for our neighbours Newtongrange Star, with the Fife & Lothians Cup Final v Bonnyrigg Rose next week to look forward to.
This is an exciting time for the Jags and we hope the Dalkeith community support the club and new management team as we head into a new era in the East of Scotland league.
